Professional Psychology has a great deal to offer everyone in solving a multitude of problems. Meeting with a psychologist is an important decision as therapy can help you and your family meet many of life’s challenges. The information on this page will guide you through the process of getting started with Groupworks and our staff. Hopefully, the information on this page and the entire website will give you a better understanding of our overall practice goal of Bringing Psychology to Everyday Life!

It is our policy to review referrals before agreeing to accept them. We consider our areas of expertise, availability of appointment times, and your other needs. We offer quality referrals to anyone whom we do not agree to treat. When you inquire about our services, you'll receive a call from one of our practice assistants to get some information that will assist us in directing you to the most appropriate resources.

Payment for Services

Groupworks does not accept any insurance plans for services. All services are delivered on a private-pay basis only.

The practice provides Superbill receipts for self-filing with insurance companies. We've put together a useful guide for use in inquiring about benefits and self-filing with your insurance company.

There are two options for payment for sessions:

1. Pay by cash or check in our waiting room payment box.

2. Pay  by credit card on file with our office. This is the most convenient option!

Please keep in mind that session fees  are due at the time of service. The practice accepts cash, personal checks, and Mastercard, Visa, Discover & American Express.

Scheduling your First Appointment

Please be aware that initial appointments will probably be scheduled during early afternoon or morning times. Follow-up appointments can be scheduled later in the day based upon availability. During your first meeting, your therapist will spend some time getting to know you and the problems you are facing. We will also review some paperwork, such as consent for treatment and a payment contract.  Since our practice is small, we only have staff in the office a few hours per week. In order to schedule your first appointment we offer the following options since we are a small office with limited staff hours:

  • Call our New Client Line at (502) 741-1420

  • Use our Contact Form

For follow-up appointments, we offer an online scheduling portal! Look for the "Schedule" tab on the top of each page of this website.
